Increasing Funding for San Diego's Infrastructure Without a "Congestion Tax" or Sales Tax Hike

Thursday, July 11 at 8am
La Jolla/UTC Marriott Hotel, 4240 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego 92037
Reform California convenes monthly issue briefings for business leaders to alert them to emerging threats to the business climate in our state and region. This month's briefing addresses the proposed raid on road and infrastructure funds by San Diego politicians. A 2004 sales tax increase earmarked funds for expansion projects on I-5, I-8, I-15, Hwy 78, Hwy 52, Hwy 67, and Hwy 56 - but now ALL of those projects will be cancelled and the funds diverted to cover salaries at the Metropolitan Transit System.
Traffic in San Diego will get WORSE under this proposal - hurting businesses and further eroding our quality of life.  What's worse, these same politicians want to impose TWO TAX HIKES.  In November 2020, voters will be asked to consider another SALES TAX increase for transit, not roads.  In addition, SANDAG is proposing a CONGESTION TAX for all vehicles using the roads during peak hours.
Find out about these emerging issues and how they will impact your business - as well as what Reform California is doing to fight these misguided policies and instead advocate for common-sense infrastructure management. The event is free but you must RSVP and be approved for attendance.
