EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPLICATION

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization as well as fundraising and developing other revenues necessary to support TABE’s vision and mission. Other key duties include organizing, developing, and delivering professional development, designing and organizing events, fundraising, lead marketing strategies, and arranging community outreach opportunities. The position reports directly to the Texas Association for Bilingual Education (TABE) Executive Board.

The TABE Executive Director oversees TABE’s strategic vision and mission. The duties include, but are not limited to, collaborating with the executive board and staff, implementing strategic plans for the development of the organization and managing relationships with the membership and other stakeholders.

Qualifications for Executive Director:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a related field in bilingual education  
  • At least 10 years of experience with bilingual education
  • Clear understanding of TABE’s objectives
  • Proficient knowledge of organizational processes, procedures, and structures
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Spanish
  • Outstanding social cultural competence skills
  • Experience supervising and managing staff
  • Experience in transformational, systemic, and organizational change
  • Understanding of the Texas Education Agency policies and curriculum standards

Preferred Qualifications for Executive Director:

  • At least 5 of 10 years of current experience with Bilingual Dual Language education Effectively communicates in English and Spanish
  • Bilingual and biliterate at a level to provide professional development in either or both languages

Executive Director Skills:

  • High quality professional development performance skills
  • Strong knowledge base of bilingual dual language education and academic support for emergent bilingual students and their families
  • Excellent understanding of finance-related performance standards
  • Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Demonstrated knowledge of  business structures and regulatory best practices
  • Organization and leadership skills

Salary Range: Up to $90,000-$120,000
  • Salary is commensurate with experience, funding raised, and performance evaluation
