We have several different volunteer opportunities available:
Easter Egg Hunt: Help us dye eggs, decorate the CHUN office/grounds, and run the annual Easter Egg Hunt for the children of Greater Capitol Hill! The Easter Egg Hunt is always on the Saturday before Easter (the day before Easter).
National Night Out: NNO is a nation-wide community celebration and public safety awareness event. CHUN hosts a BBQ each year, and we need help in soliciting donations, setting up, running the event, and cleaning up after.
Wine Tasting and Silent Auction: The wine tasting and silent auction is a fun way to raise needed funds for CHUN while having a great time! We need help soliciting silent auction items, setting up, running the event (pouring wine, serving food, taking pictures, running the silent auction, and working the front door), and cleaning up after. Volunteers will also take away a bottle of wine at the end of the night!
Pub Crawl and Scavenger Scramble: Have fun supporting local businesses while running a Pub Crawl stop! This event is usually in the fall, and takes place at different locations in Greater Capitol Hill each year. We also need help promoting the event –we will have a competition between our volunteers to see who can sign up the most Pub Crawl teams – the winner will be awarded a fantastic prize!
Membership Outreach/Renewals: Membership renewals happen at the end of August/beginning of September, and we can always use help with preparing the renewal mailing!
Holiday Open House: Always in the beginning of December, help is needed with setting up for this event, pouring beverages/serving food, and general support in running the event, as well as cleaning up after.
General Office Work/Yard Work (year-round): We can always use help with prepping/mailing the monthly newsletter, light cleaning in the mansion and community hall, general maintenance work, and yard work/landscaping.
